As a graduate in this area, you'll need strong people skills especially communication, as it will play an important part as you seek new opportunities within our markets and interact with the retail customers. Looking at one product category at a time, you'll be monitoring our market share and looking at break-even points, profit margins etc. You'll also provide data to help us make decisions when it comes to whether we should promote a product or not. You'll be working out if this is viable, the margin that we need to obtain at differing volumes and liaising with the retailer to resolve any issues at their end. There'll also be contact with the retailers when you're performing store audits, reviewing how the products are displayed to maximise sales. We also undertake a great deal of research to help our retailers sell more effectively, you could be involved in implementing solutions based on the findings. Other involvements will include looking at packaging and other issues relating to marketing and consumer trends.
